What a kitchen renovation costs in Dubai

A kitchen is the one room where the price splits almost evenly between the things you will look at and the services you will never see again.

Kitchen with a fluted island, white cabinetry and a dark stone splashback

Kitchen budgets are dominated by two decisions: how the cabinetry is built and where the services come from. Cabinetry is the largest single line because it is measured, made and installed as a set of separate units. Services are quieter in the quote but decide how much of the room has to be opened before anything can be fitted.

Cost guides on this site explain what moves a price up or down and which parts of a quote to compare line by line. They never publish a figure we cannot stand behind.

Everything in between — worktops, splashback, sink, tap, lighting and extraction — is a series of smaller choices that are easy to make one at a time and hard to pull back afterwards. Choosing them in the right order, before the cabinetry is drawn, is what keeps a kitchen quote from growing.

What matters most on this page

  • Cabinetry

Carcass material, door finish, drawer systems and unit count. This is where a kitchen is won or lost financially.

  • Worktops and stone

Priced by area and by the number of cut-outs, and dependent on templating after the units are level.

  • Services and extraction

Plumbing, drainage, circuits and the extract duct route decide how much opening-up is needed.

What actually moves a kitchen price

  • Whether the layout changes

Replacing units in the same footprint is one thing. Moving the sink, hob or fridge is a plumbing, drainage and electrical change as well as a joinery one.

  • The extraction route

A ducted route to outside is more work than a recirculating hood, and the duct often has to travel further than expected through a ceiling void.

  • Appliance coordination

Appliance dimensions and power requirements have to be settled before the cabinetry is drawn. Late changes mean remade units, not just a different model.

Before you compare kitchen quotes

  • Ask for the cabinetry specification in writing

Carcass material, door finish and hardware should be named. Two quotes for the same number of units can describe very different kitchens.

  • Confirm who templates the worktop

Templating happens after the units are installed and level. It is a separate step with its own lead time.

  • Check the electrical and plumbing scope

New circuits, isolation for appliances and any waste re-routing belong on their own lines.

Questions we are often asked

Does moving the sink add much to a kitchen?

It changes plumbing and drainage as well as the cabinetry run, so it is usually the most expensive layout decision in the room.

Are appliances included in kitchen quotes?

Often they are excluded or allowed for as a sum. Ask whether the quote prices the appliances or only the units that house them.

Can the old units be kept and refaced?

Sometimes, when the carcasses are sound and the layout is staying. It is worth asking before assuming a full replacement.
